Colony Bank offices in Broxton and Douglas participated in the community Passionately Pink for the Cure Day on Oct. 27th. Passionately Pink for the Cure is a fundraising program sponsored by Susan G. Komen for the Cure that inspires breast cancer advocacy and honors those affected by the disease. Each participant is asked to wear pink and donate $5 to the organization. This dollar may seem small but when an entire community comes together for the cause the total amount of funds donated is staggering. These three officers were proud to be a part of this even and the blanket of PINK that covered Coffee County.
Another Christmas season has passed us by. Although 2010 was a challenging year in banking, our local communities and its citizens have been hit hard by the overall economic impact.
Many families continue to face struggles, including our own. However, thanks to many caring and unselfish Colony Bank employees, several families and children experienced unexpected blessings. Several offices gave time, money and kindness to others during the holidays to help brighten the day of others.
The staff in Cordele kicked off the holidays by donating a Thanksgiving meal of turkey, dressing, sides and dessert to a family in the community. During the Christmas season, the Cordele office held a food drive to be distributed locally.
